Congressman Neal Dunn of Florida has introduced the 10th Amendment Restoration Act, a bill designed to establish a Constitutional Government Review Commission. The purpose of this commission is to assist in scrutinizing the powers of federal agencies and to support President Trump and the Department of Oversight of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in reducing what they identify as unlawful activities by these entities. The proposed legislation aims to provide an expedited process in Congress for bills that focus on limiting federal agency powers.

Dunn stated, “President Trump and DOGE are doing an outstanding job at keeping their promise to the American people by closing wasteful federal agencies that are doing almost nothing to serve the interests of the American people. Congress must do its part to support the administration. I am proud to pave the way for DOGE’s efforts by providing a clear statutory process to rein in, and when necessary, close federal agencies that go beyond the scope of their power.”

According to DOGE, approximately $140 billion has been saved for American taxpayers by identifying wasteful government programs. Examples provided by DOGE include funding allocated for gender equity initiatives in Mexico, worker empowerment in South America, and various programs in Central America, Malaysia, and Lesotho.

The legislation not only proposes the formation of the commission but would also authorize it to recommend restrictions, budget reductions, or the repeal of federal agency powers.
