Florida State University’s baseball team, currently ranked No. 20 in the nation, will host two midweek games at Dick Howser Stadium this week. The Seminoles face Jacksonville University on Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. ET and Mercer University on Wednesday, March 4 at 5 p.m.

Tickets for both games can be purchased online or through the FSU ticket office. Students are admitted free with their FSUID at the right field gate at Haggard Plaza. Gates open one hour before each game.

Tuesday’s event is billed as “Turn It Back Tuesday,” featuring vintage elements around the stadium. Wednesday’s matchup will highlight campus recreational sports.

Both contests will be available to stream live via ACC Network Extra for viewers with access through their television provider or an ESPN+ subscription. Radio broadcasts can be heard on WFLA 100.7 FM and through the Seminole Sports Network, as well as online via the Seminoles Unconquered App and Seminoles.com.

The starting pitchers for all teams have not yet been announced.

Florida State enters these games with an 8-2 record overall and a perfect 6-0 mark at home following a weekend sweep of The Citadel. As a team, FSU holds a .277 batting average with seven home runs and has scored 70 runs so far this season. On the mound, the pitching staff carries a collective ERA of 3.62 over 87 innings pitched.

Key players include sophomore first baseman Myles Bailey (.387 average, four home runs), sophomore Noah Sheffield (.324 average), junior center fielder Chase Williams (four stolen bases), junior left-hander Wes Mendes (3-0 record, 0.55 ERA), and junior reliever John Abraham (0.82 ERA).

FSU remains ranked in every major national poll: No. 20 by D1Baseball, No. 13 by The Athletic, No.16 by Perfect Game, and No.18 according to Baseball America.

Against Jacksonville University (JU), Florida State has won eight consecutive matchups and leads the all-time series 139-42—including an away victory earlier this season where they defeated JU 13-3 in eight innings on February 17.

Jacksonville arrives with a season record of 9-3 but suffered its only midweek loss against FSU last month.

Mercer University comes into Wednesday’s contest boasting an impressive start to its season at 11-1 after sweeping Penn over the previous weekend; however, Mercer lost its only game so far to Troy in late February.

Historically against Mercer, Florida State leads their series but dropped their last two meetings—including a defeat on March 18 of last year when Mercer prevailed over FSU by nine runs to three in Tallahassee.

Over the past weekend versus The Citadel, Florida State swept all three games behind strong pitching performances—allowing just three runs across those contests—and improved its all-time record against The Citadel to twelve wins out of thirteen games played.

Looking ahead after these midweek matchups, Florida State will close out its current homestand with a non-conference series against Northern Kentucky from March 6–8.
