Florida State University’s beach volleyball team, ranked sixth nationally, will host several top-ranked teams this weekend during the Seminole Beach Bash in Tallahassee. The event begins Friday with matches against No. 16 North Florida and No. 14 Florida Atlantic University (FAU). On Saturday, FSU will play UNC Wilmington and then face either No. 7 TCU, USF, or UTampa.

The Seminoles have a strong record against their upcoming opponents. They are undefeated in eight matches against North Florida, including six sweeps. Their first meeting took place at the 2013 AVCA National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where FSU won all five courts and lost only one set. North Florida last played in Tallahassee in 2024.

FSU has also dominated FAU historically, holding a 20-0 record over the Owls. In their most recent matchup at home, FSU swept FAU 5-0 with all courts winning in straight sets. The closest contest came on court two as Maddie Trusty and Gella Andrew secured both sets with scores of 22-20.

Against UNC Wilmington, FSU is also unbeaten with a 6-0 record. Their last encounter was at the CCSA Conference Championships in 2021 and resulted in another sweep for the Seminoles.

TCU enters as the defending national champion and is now a conference rival for FSU. The Seminoles hold a 14-7 advantage over TCU overall and are undefeated (4-0) when playing them at home in Tallahassee. Both teams are scheduled to meet again next month at the Pompano Tournament in Boca Raton.

Friday’s matches will include recognition of Seminole Heritage, while Saturday will feature activities for children as part of Kids Club events. Live statistics for all matches can be accessed through VolleyballLife.com.
