Florida State University has named Ben Barrett, Cal Fisher, and Myles Bailey as captains for the 2026 baseball season, according to an announcement by head coach Link Jarrett.
Barrett is a senior right-handed pitcher from Orlando who is entering his fourth year with the Seminoles. Fisher, an infielder from Deerfield, Wisconsin, is in his third year with the team. Bailey, a first baseman from Tallahassee, returns for his second season at FSU. All three players have spent their entire collegiate careers at Florida State.
Head coach Link Jarrett said, “I love this moment for our team. The locker room speaks, and we listen to their voices on captains. It’s totally a player vote. These three represent work ethic, character and production. I am happy for them and their families, it is a really cool honor.”
The new captains return after contributing to Florida State’s back-to-back NCAA Super Regional appearances in 2025 and 2026. This achievement marks the first time since 2015-17 that the program has made consecutive Super Regionals.
Bailey was recognized as a Freshman All-American in 2025 and has appeared on several Preseason All-America teams ahead of the 2026 season. In his freshman year, he played in 56 games with 55 starts and led the team with 19 home runs. He also ranked second on the team in doubles (11), third in batting average (.327), and had 53 runs batted in.
Barrett has pitched in 34 career games with seven starts. He holds a record of one win without any losses and three saves—two of which came last season—and has struck out 54 batters over 53 innings pitched. Academically, Barrett is majoring in sport management with a cumulative GPA of 3.459 and has earned both All-ACC Academic Team honors and been listed on the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Fisher started all but one of his team’s games as a sophomore in 2025, hitting .303 with eight home runs and driving in 37 runs while scoring 32 times himself. He was named to both the Tallahassee Regional All-Regional Team and CSC Academic All-District Team last season. Fisher studies finance at FSU and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.406.
Florida State will begin its baseball season against James Madison from February 13–15 at Dick Howser Stadium. More information about tickets can be found at Seminoles.com/Tickets.
