The Florida State University softball team, ranked No. 10 nationally, will host Jacksonville University on Wednesday before traveling to Conway, South Carolina for a weekend series against Coastal Carolina. The game against Jacksonville is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACCNX. The three-game series at Coastal Carolina begins Friday at 6 p.m., with subsequent games Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon, all available on ESPN+.

Florida State enters the week with a 17-4 record after going undefeated in five games last week, outscoring opponents by a combined margin of 38-7. Offensive leaders included Kennedy Harp, who hit .583 with seven RBIs, and Jaysoni Beachum, who batted .545 and delivered a walk-off home run against Rutgers.

Jacksonville arrives in Tallahassee with an 11-9 record following a successful weekend at the JU/UNF Classic but has struggled against top-tier competition this season. Coastal Carolina stands at 11-8 and has faced eight Power Four teams so far this year.

Historically, Florida State holds a strong advantage over both upcoming opponents: the Seminoles lead the all-time series against Jacksonville 20-5 and have won their last twelve meetings at JoAnne Graf Field dating back to 2008. Against Coastal Carolina, FSU is undefeated in nine matchups and will play its first road games of the season in Conway.

JoAnne Graf Field continues to be a difficult venue for visiting teams; since 2019, FSU has compiled a home record of 181-29 and has won twenty-nine of its last thirty-two regular season home games.

Returning from another NCAA Super Regional appearance last year, FSU’s roster features two NFCA All-Americans—Isa Torres (First Team) and Kennedy Harp (Second Team)—who together posted one of the highest combined batting averages among returning players nationwide last season (.424). In pitching, Jazzy Francik (1.51 ERA) and Ashtyn Danley (1.60 ERA) return as one of college softball’s top duos.

FSU is notable as one of only two Power Four programs without any transfers on its roster this season; Virginia is the other such program.

This year’s freshman class was ranked third nationally by On3 Sports. Several newcomers have made immediate impacts: through twenty-one games, freshmen Marin Heller, Makenna Sturgis, Anna Hinde, and Hayley Griggs have collectively hit .329 with seven home runs and fifty RBIs.

Defensively, Florida State has improved significantly from last season; its current fielding percentage (.985) ranks sixth nationally and first in the ACC after finishing outside the top hundred last year.

Offensively in 2025—the previous full season—FSU finished among national leaders in several categories including batting average and total runs scored while also ranking high in doubles over recent years. This trend continues into the current campaign: FSU leads the ACC with forty-five doubles so far this season.

Individually:
– Isa Torres was recognized as college softball’s top shortstop by D1Softball and Softball America entering this year.
– Jazzy Francik started her sophomore campaign strongly with back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Week honors.
– Jaysoni Beachum remains one of college softball’s most productive hitters.
– Kennedy Harp returned from injury to post impressive numbers over five games last week.
– Ashtyn Danley continues to provide stability both as a pitcher (3-1 record) and hitter (.348 average).
– Freshman Anna Hinde reached base safely in nineteen out of twenty-one appearances.
– Fellow freshman Makenna Sturgis recently had her best weekend yet.
– Pitcher Makenna Reid appears healthy again after battling injuries; she has not allowed an earned run across her past six outings.
