Florida State University has received national recognition for its online graduate programs in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings. Twelve of FSU’s distance-education degree programs were named among the best in the country when the rankings were released on Tuesday.
FSU’s highest marks continue to be in education and information technology, with several programs ranked within the Top 10 nationally and among public universities. The School of Information’s online master’s program in information technology achieved a No. 8 overall ranking and was No. 5 among public institutions. For veterans, this program was ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 4 among public universities.
Graduate programs in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences earned multiple Top 10 placements as well. The online master’s program in curriculum and instruction ranked No. 3 nationwide, maintaining its status among both public and private institutions. The special education program was ranked No. 7 overall, as was educational and instructional media design.
The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice continued to be recognized as a national leader, with its online graduate program ranking No. 12 overall and No. 7 among public universities.
FSU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Business also maintained strong standings, with its online graduate business programs ranked No. 18 overall in the Best Online Graduate Business Programs category. The online MBA program secured the No. 21 spot nationally and was ranked No. 16 for programs serving veterans.
The university also performed well in categories specific to military-affiliated students, earning several Top 10 and Top 25 positions across information technology, education, and business disciplines.
According to U.S. News & World Report, these rankings are determined by evaluating student engagement, faculty credentials, academic services, and peer assessments.
