On Friday, April 25, former Lawton Chiles High School standout Jaxson West’s current college team, the Florida State Seminoles, won 10-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Louisville Cardinals.
The game took place at Jim Patterson Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Cardinals this season.
The Seminoles’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Jim Patterson Stadium against Louisville Cardinals.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
