Florida State University’s track and field teams ended their regular season on Friday with competitions at the Tiger Paw Invitational and the Boston Valentine Invite. The events featured several notable performances, including a record-setting run by Bieke Schipperen.
Schipperen broke both the program and national records in the women’s 5,000 meters at the Boston Valentine Invitational, finishing with a time of 15:36.76. This surpassed Lauren Ryan’s previous school record from 2022, which was 15:40.40. “The Dutch native time currently stands as the new national record,” according to the team’s statement.
Rylee Blade also made her mark in the women’s 5,000 meters, placing 19th overall and recording the fourth-fastest time in program history at 15:59.06.
At the Tiger Paw Invitational, Kayla Pinkard won the triple jump with a personal best of 13.19 meters, moving up on Florida State’s all-time list with what is now the eighth-longest jump in school history.
The men’s 4×400 relay team—Micahi Danzy, British Wilkerson, Durian Moss, and Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng—secured fifth place with a time of 3:05.18. This result is now recognized as the second-fastest in program history.
Other results included Justin Woulard placing sixteenth in men’s triple jump (14.25m), Regan Morrall taking twenty-fifth in women’s 800-meters (2:12.99 personal best), Zach Trotter finishing eleventh in men’s 800-meters (1:53.05), and Shamar Reid earning seventh place in men’s shot put (17.78m). In women’s one mile at Boston Valentine Invite, Suus Altorf finished thirteenth (4:31.62) while Nicole Dinan placed forty-third with a personal best (4:41.84).
Florida State will next compete at the ACC Championship meet scheduled for February 26-28 in Boston.
