Bureau of Land Management issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published its final Decision Record for the Site Infrastructure, Resilience, and Information Environmental Assessment (SIRI EA) concerning implementation of a multitude of projects at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area that includes the conversion of septic systems to municipal sewer and the development of a living shoreline along a portion of the site.

The Decision Record for the SIRI EA, its accompanying Finding of No Significant Impact, and all documents supporting this decision are available for download and review on the BLM’s ePlanning website at: https://go.usa.gov/xVEjb.

“We are thankful for the public’s participation in our decision-making process,” said Robert Swithers, district manager for the BLM’s Southeastern States District. “Input from partners, organizations, and individuals helped inform our decision making to ensure the most critical issues and concerns are addressed. This robust public decision-making process ensures the BLM makes informed decisions based on the best information available and as transparently as possible,” he concluded.

As part of the decision-making process, the release of the Decision Record initiates an appeal period for 30 days, where parties affected by, and who do not agree with, the BLM’s final decisions can appeal those decisions to the Interior Board of Land Appeals. Details of the appeals process are available in the Decision Record.
