Seminole County ranked fifth in state for resident earnings in 2017

Seminole County ranked fifth among counties in Florida by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Seminole County residents was an inflation-adjusted $30,431 per year. Seminole County had 161,371 households in 2017, with a population of 449,260.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was St. Johns County. St. Johns County's median income was $33,827 per year after adjusting for inflation – $3,396 more than Seminole County. It had 83,744 households in 2017 and a population of 226,578.

Madison County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Florida, with a median income of only $18,832 per year. That was $11,599 less than the median income in Seminole County at the time. Madison County had 6,743 households in 2017 and a population of 18,518.
