39 percent of applicants to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University were admitted for fall 2018

At Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, 91 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Tallahassee enrolled 10,021 students in fall 2018, including 8,137 in undergraduate and 1,884 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

78 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 21 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (85 percent) and white (6 percent).

The school admitted 39 percent of the 8,976 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 39 percent enrolled.
