Leon County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept. 3.
Justin Kurlander is an ESE teacher at Lawton Chiles High School. He has been a Special Olympics coach for the past three years, but got his start in Special Olympics more than 12 years ago. A graduate of Leon High School, Justin became a Unified partner in his sophomore year. Justin says, "Special Olympics is all about having fun and playing the games you love. I’ve been a Unified partner on just about every team sport there is; soccer, softball, basketball and flag football. I love being able to go on our out-of-town trips and competing against other teams from across the state and helping my teammates and friends." Thank you, Justin, for your passion and continued dedication to Special Olympics Florida and our athletes!
Leon County Schools is proud of all of our student athletes and volunteers who participate in our Special Olympics program.
