Family Story Time (ages 0-5) @ Woodville Branch Library on February 9, 2022

Fam

Woodville Branch Library recently issued the following announcement.

Join us for Family Story Time featuring songs, rhymes, and stories to help your child develop early literacy skills. This program is designed for children ages birth to five and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome!

Special "Show Way" Quilt Block Activity during Story Time February 9:  Build a paper quilt square based on the story Show Way by Jacqueline Woodson. Learn more about the role of quilts as maps for slaves seeking freedom, children will craft their own paper squares, which will be assembled to create a quilt showcased at the Leon County Main Library in March. These programs will help youth build motor skills and creative expression, while teaching them about the history of slavery. Can't make the program? Make your quilt square at any library location during the month of February.

Special Little Read Story Time March 2 will tie into a "Little Read" version of NEA Big Read programming featuring Beloved by Toni Morrison. Little Read Storytime will discuss topics like diversity, embracing personal heritage, and family.

In-person  at the Woodville Branch Library.
