Florida A&M volleyball is off to North Carolina this weekend for tournament action in the two-day Aggie/Phoenix Volley for Unity. There, the Rattlers are scheduled to meet UNC-Greensboro and Elon on Friday before concluding the trip at North Carolina A&T on Saturday.

Those Striking Rattlers
- Emerald Jacobs concluded the FAMU/FSU Tournament with a career day - a game-high 23 kills to go alongside a career-high 17 digs in Florida A&M's 3-2 decision to James Madison (9/3); the 23 kills were the most recorded by a Rattler this season and sits second on the Southwestern Athletic Conference's 2022 performance list
- Nina Sharpton's 49 assists against JMU also sits atop the SWAC's 2022 performance list
- Dominique Washington, the SWAC's reigning Player and Newcomer of the Year, ranks fourth in the conference in kills (77); the grad is working three-straight matches with 10-plus
- Brooke Hudson posted her first Rattler double-double behind a season-high 26 points and 10 assists versus JMU (9/3)
- FAMU is still in search of its first win of the 2022 season; its last two matches resulted in 2-3 decisions
The Newcomers
All five Rattler newcomers have received considerable playing time this season.
Aja Jones commands the team's best hitting percentage (.298) and is currently pacing the team in blocks (21.0), while Sharpton leads FAMU and the SWAC in assists (204). With offensive and defensive prowess, Hudson manages a team-best 130 digs (the most in the conference) to go alongside a Rattler-high nine service aces.
