Officer Duncan Coke was hired by the Tallahassee Police Department last year, and his current assignment is Southwest Patrol District. Every shift Officer Coke dedicates himself to addressing open-air narcotics activities within his assigned areas. Since January 2022, Officer Coke's proactive efforts have resulted in 439 traffic stops, 287 Community Policing, and 135 Incident Reports.
On July 1, Officer Coke conducted a traffic stop of a bicyclist for a traffic violation. The bicyclist bailed from the bicycle and fled the scene on foot. Officer Coke gave chase in efforts to apprehend the subject. During the foot pursuit Officer Coke navigated between buildings, across yards, and over fences. Officer Coke sustained an eye injury while maneuvering over a fence, but remained focused and continued to chase the suspect. The suspect subsequently fled into an occupied residence and was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.
It is because of his commitment and devotion to the community he serves and his fellow officers that Patrol Officer Duncan Coke is truly an asset to the Tallahassee Police Department and is deserving of recognition as the Employee of the Month for July 2022.
