On Sunday, July 23, at 8:43 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire located in the 1800 block of Westridge Drive. TFD was notified en route that there was one patient who sustained burns from the fire. Upon arrival, TFD personnel found heavy fire showing through the roof of a single-story residence. TFD crews quickly attacked and began to extinguish the fire. TFD personnel searched the home and found nobody inside. One patient was transported to the hospital by Leon County EMS. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene for further investigation. The cause of the fire is possibly from a boat that was located underneath a carport.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and the City of Tallahassee Utilities. Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents.
