WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a move to support the military, contractors, and families affected by inflation, Congressman Neal Dunn (Florida-02) expressed his decision to back the passing of H.R. 5860. This continuing appropriations bill aims to fund the government through November 17th, 2023.

"Today, I chose to support our military, contractors, and families already grappling with sky-high inflation as a result of Bidenomics," stated Congressman Neal Dunn. "While a continuing resolution was not the solution I hoped for, it does include disaster funding that’s critical for Florida’s Second Congressional District. I will work with House Republicans towards a fully-funded government in the next 45 days."

The passing of H.R. 5860 in the House of Representatives was a significant step, with a 335-91 vote in favor. This bill encompasses $16 billion in supplemental funding for disaster relief, recognizing the urgent need for assistance in affected areas. Additionally, it includes an extension of the National Flood Insurance Program.

It is worth noting that H.R. 5860 does not involve pay raises for Members of Congress or additional funding for Ukraine. However, its focus on providing critical disaster funding aligns with Congressman Neal Dunn's dedication to supporting his constituents in Florida's Second Congressional District.

As the government moves forward, Congressman Neal Dunn, alongside House Republicans, pledges to continue working towards a fully-funded government within the next 45 days, ensuring stability and support for those affected by ongoing challenges.
