National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 28. The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) will host a drop-off event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at TPD Headquarters, located at 234 East Seventh Avenue. This is an opportunity for those who have accumulated unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications to safely dispose of these items.
Proper disposal of these potentially dangerous items is important. By bringing them to TPD, you can help keep them out of the hands of children and individuals who abuse prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.
TPD is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make this day a success for the community. If you have prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications that need to be disposed, please bring them to TPD on Oct. 28. A representative from TPD will be on site to assist participants.
