Today, Nov. 27, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) celebrated the promotion of three Majors, two Captains, five Lieutenants and six Sergeants. These 16 exceptional individuals will hold key leadership roles within the agency, and their selection serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment and outstanding service.

The newly promoted supervisors represent a diverse group of individuals within the agency and will collectively bring decades of dedicated service into their respective roles. Majors assume a pivotal role within the department by focusing on the responsibilities of the Bureau they command while keeping a steadfast eye on the strategic goals of the department. Captains are dynamic leaders and resource managers, ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of department initiatives. Lieutenants play a crucial role in influencing individuals to willingly work toward a common goal. They are entrusted with promoting team building and setting an example for others to follow. Sergeants are first-line supervisors. They bear the responsibility of remaining tactically and technically proficient while striving to know their teams closely. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the training, discipline and morale of the department members under their watch.

Chief Lawrence Revell expressed his enthusiasm for the promotions, stating, "We are thrilled to recognize and promote these long-serving members of the department to the ranks of Major, Captain, Lieutenant and Sergeant. Their dedication to service and their commitment to the citizens of this great city will undoubtedly continue their development as outstanding leaders, setting a standard of excellence for those they supervise, while contributing significantly to the overall success of the department."

This milestone event underscores TPD's ongoing commitment to cultivate leadership from within its ranks, ensuring that experienced and dedicated officers continue to shape the future of law enforcement in Tallahassee.
