TALLAHASSEE, FL – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) has announced that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) Audit Team has initiated an audit of USPS locations in Leon County, including the processing and distribution center.

In a statement, Congressman Dunn expressed his appreciation for the audit team's intervention, saying, “I’m grateful to USPS for sending an audit team to address the current processing and delivery issues in Leon County. For months, my office has received calls from worried constituents who dealt with poor service, missing letters and packages, and other problems that frankly should not exist. I’m pleased that my office and I could deliver results by getting the OIG audit team to Leon County to evaluate several locations, including the processing and distribution center. The team will need several months to complete this process. I will share the updates with my constituents as I receive them."

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts in addressing the USPS issues, Congressman Dunn extended his gratitude, stating, "Thank you to Leon County Commissioner Brian Welch for working with me to address the USPS issue! I’d also like to thank the hundreds of constituents who contacted my office with concerns, frustrations, and stories! This is an important step forward, and it would not be possible without their help."

The audit is expected to shed light on the challenges faced by USPS in Leon County and work towards improving the service quality for residents.
