Congressman Neal Dunn (Florida-02) expressed his gratitude towards Eastern Shipbuilding for their recent decision to expand their facilities in Panama City, a move that is expected to increase production capacity for America's future national security needs.

"Eastern Shipbuilding’s latest improvement plan will have massive implications that will reverberate throughout Bay County and the country," said Congressman Dunn. "Through its expanded capabilities, Eastern is well-positioned to meet America’s growing national security needs by fabricating world-class vessels while also creating countless jobs in the area. Bay County residents are ready to get the job done, and I’m grateful to Eastern for reinvesting in the community."

Joey D’Isernia, Chairman and CEO of ESG, echoed Dunn's sentiments on the importance of this expansion. "This infrastructure improvement project represents a major investment in our government shipbuilding capabilities," he said. "The increased capacity and shipyard enhancements will allow us to better support the Navy’s initiative to expand the shipbuilding industrial base in order to meet the demands of the national defense strategy."

D'Isernia further emphasized on the urgent need for enhanced shipbuilding capacity. "We’re in a predicament and we need ship building capacity so we’re answering that call, Bay County is answering that call, and we hope that it’ll pay off with a lot more work, long term work, and prosperity for thousands of families that rely on the shipyard to put food on the table."
