WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Neal Dunn (Florida-02) has voted in favor of H.R. 8282, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, which seeks to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC). The bill targets any ICC efforts to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute American officials or those of allied nations.
“Recent attempts by the ICC to target America’s allies demonstrate that we must reassert the supremacy of American institutions and show the international community that we will stand by our allies,” said Congressman Dunn. “International law does not supersede the Constitution. The Trump administration was right to impose sanctions on the ICC and its associates if they target American servicemembers, diplomats, or our allies. I am proud to vote in favor of restoring President Trump’s agenda and defend our allies from illegitimate prosecution.”
