Congressman Neal Dunn has been appointed as the Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. The subcommittee is a key body in Congress responsible for healthcare policy and oversight of the American healthcare system.
In response to his appointment, Congressman Dunn stated, "I’m honored to serve as Vice Chair of the crucial Health Subcommittee and am grateful for the confidence placed in me by Chairman-elect Guthrie." He expressed eagerness to work with Chairman-elect Guthrie and other members of the subcommittee to fulfill promises made to improve public health nationwide.
Chairman-Elect Guthrie congratulated Congressman Dunn on his new role, highlighting his extensive experience as a surgeon for over 35 years. "Congressman Dunn’s dedication...has given him the necessary experience to tackle the issues facing the healthcare system head on," said Guthrie. He also praised Dunn's focus on increasing transparency and reducing costs in healthcare, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring affordable high-quality care for Americans.
Dunn has been part of both the House Energy and Commerce Committee and its Health Subcommittee for four years. He will work alongside incoming Subcommittee Chair Earl “Buddy” Carter during the 119th Congress.
