Florida State University men’s golf junior Tyler Weaver has been named to the 2026 Ben Hogan Award Watch List, as announced on Wednesday. Weaver is among 35 collegiate golfers recognized, including 17 juniors and seven players from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
The Ben Hogan Award honors the top men’s college golfer across NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, or NJCAA, based on performances in collegiate, amateur, and professional events over the past year. The selection process involves a committee of 40 leaders from collegiate, amateur, and professional golf who vote at each stage. The list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on April 16 and three finalists on May 12. The winner will be announced during a black-tie dinner at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth, Texas on Memorial Day.
Florida State has previously produced two Ben Hogan Award winners: Luke Clanton in 2025 and John Pak in 2021.
Weaver is currently ranked No. 11 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He recently finished fourth at the 2026 Jones Cup with a score of two-under-par (142). In November 2025, he competed at the World Wide Technology Championship after earning an exemption by winning the Cabo Collegiate earlier that year.
Representing England internationally, Weaver placed seventeenth at the World Amateur Team Championship and participated in several other prestigious events such as the Walker Cup, U.S. Amateur, St. Andrews Trophy, European Team Championship, European Amateur, Arnold Palmer Cup, and U.S. Open—where he was fourth among amateurs.
During fall 2025 competition for Florida State University’s team—the Seminoles—Weaver played in two tournaments and secured top-25 finishes in both.
The Seminoles are set to begin their spring season at the Watersound Invitational from February 16-18 at Panama City’s Third Course at Watersound Club.
“Weaver was one of the 17 juniors named to the 35-player list, and was one of seven from the ACC,” according to Florida State University Athletics.
“The Ben Hogan Award annually awards the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on results from all collegiate, amateur and professional events played over the previous 12 months,” states Florida State University Athletics.
“An esteemed international selection committee, comprised of 40 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf, votes during each stage of the process,” Florida State University Athletics added.
