Florida State University’s track and field teams concluded the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with notable performances, particularly from Shenese Walker. Walker broke both the program and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) records in the women’s 60-meter dash. She advanced from the preliminaries with a time of 7.19 seconds and improved to 7.09 seconds in the semifinals. This mark now leads all NCAA competitors this season and is currently ranked as the fifth-fastest time globally.
“Shenese Walker’s performance now stands as the NCAA-leading mark and ranks as the fifth-fastest time in the world this season,” according to event organizers.
Aniol Borras set a personal best in the men’s one mile run, finishing 21st with a time of 4:00.40, which is also the sixth-fastest mile in Florida State history.
In distance events for women, Bieke Schipperen finished seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:55.54, marking her run as second-best all-time at Florida State. Suus Altorf placed ninth with a personal best of 8:58.36—the fourth-fastest school record—while freshman Rylee Blade was twelfth at 9:03.46, which is sixth-best historically for FSU.
Other highlights included Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng tying for tenth on FSU’s all-time list in his debut men’s 400-meter race at 46.73 seconds. Kyvon Tatham achieved a personal best of 16.20 meters in men’s triple jump to finish fifth overall and remains sixth on FSU’s historical list.
Isaac Hirshman Chandler recorded his first appearance among school records by placing ninth in the men’s 3,000 meters with a lifetime best of 7:55.52—the fifth-fastest time for Florida State.
The next competition for Florida State will be at Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational on February 13; distance runners will participate at Boston’s David Henry Valentine Invite.
