37 percent of applicants to Florida State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Florida State University, 95 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Tallahassee enrolled 41,005 students in fall 2018, including 32,472 in undergraduate and 8,533 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

87 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 12 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (60 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (21 percent).

The school admitted 37 percent of the 50,314 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 34 percent enrolled.
