Wakulla County Announces Anticipated Availability Of Funds For The Community Development Block Grant For State Fiscal Year 2022/2023

Wakulla County issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

The Wakulla County Housing Authority anticipates receiving $750,000 in funding for State Fiscal Year 2022/2023(which excludes administration costs), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)Funds to be used for the following CDBG Housing Assistance Plan strategies: Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation, Demolition/Replacement, Please note that funding for rehabilitation or replacement will only be used to support existing housing.  The strategies are as follows:

  • Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation/Replacement Strategy

The purpose of this strategy is to provide repairs or improvements needed for safe and sanitary rehabilitation or replacement and/or correction of code violations. The maximum amount of CDBG Funds that may be awarded per unit varies. The decision on whether the house is to be considered for replacement or rehabilitation will be made by Wakulla County. The home must be occupied by the owner to be considered for rehabilitation or replacement. Applications will be considered as directed by the CDBG Housing Assistance Plan.

All interested persons will need to initially apply or re-apply. CDBG Applications will be available beginning Monday, February 7, 2022, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, EST, Monday thru Friday by calling Jay Moseley, Government Services Group, Inc. at (850) 681-3717 or via online at www.mywakulla.com. Applications can be picked up at the following address:

Due date for applications is March 4, 2022, 5:00 PM and applications will be ranked based on the provisions of the CDBG Housing Assistance plan. All applications received after that date will be considered alternate applicants.  Awards for all strategies is subject to availability of funds.
