From April 8-10, the City of Tallahassee will welcome world-class disc golf players to Tom Brown Park for The Open at Tallahassee, presented by Dynamic Discs. This event is part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Silver Series.
According to DGPT, more than 140 players are registered to compete. With competitors from more than 30 states registered, nine Tallahassee-based players will compete alongside players from as far away as Estonia, Norway and Belize and as close as Jacksonville, Atlanta and Ft. Walton Beach. They will test their skills on the course’s variety of technical, distance and terrain challenges.
The Open at Tallahassee is free for Tallahassee residents. Galleries will be set up at each hole to help viewers see all the players as they compete or so they can follow a specific player through the course.
Tee times begin each day at 8:25 a.m. at Hole 1, located near the Rotary Centennial Playground. The awards ceremony will be Sunday afternoon at the completion of the event.
The Open at Tallahassee is directed jointly by the City of Tallahassee and Tallahassee Disc Golf Association.
The 24-hole course at Tom Brown Park has twice been named the best course in Florida by UDisc online trade blog Release Point. Players who rated it noted enjoyable features such as “the best tee pads” and “lots of elevation fun.”
