Heat index of 105 didn’t stop these guys from pushing through tryouts for TPD’s Tactical Apprehension & Control (TAC) Team.
Every year, members voluntarily tryout through a rigorous physical and mental evaluation process for placement on the TAC Team, which is in addition to their regular duty assignment. The tryouts consist of a physical fitness assessment, shooting proficiencies, an oral board, a peer review, a personnel file review, and a psychological assessment.
There were plenty of measures in place to ensure a safe tryout despite the record temperatures and we even invited former TAC members out to help cheer them on. A great day all around.
