To address period poverty in the community, Leon County will now offer free menstrual products—pads and tampons—in many Leon County-owned public restrooms. Clearly labeled dispensers are now installed in female and gender-neutral bathrooms at Leon County libraries, parks and other County-owned buildings along with Florida Department of Health in Leon County facilities.
In addition to installing period products dispensers, the County has also hosted forums and other public education events on period poverty.
