Tallahassee Community College has opened the nominations for the 23rd Cherry Hall Alexander African-American History Calendar. The nominations close on Friday, October 28.
This year’s calendar theme, “Black Resistance: Freedom, Justice, Equality,” will feature exceptional community leaders who work to preserve and promote these tenets through community and civic engagement. The calendar will highlight an honoree for each month of the year, a President’s Award honoree, and a student highlight.
Nominations may be submitted at tcc.fl.edu/aahc. Hard copies of the nomination form may be obtained at the first-floor information desk in the Hinson Administration Building on the main campus of TCC. Nominees must hold residency in Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, or Gadsden County; demonstrate significant contributions in freedom, justice, and equality; and have not been featured previously in the calendar.
The calendar unveiling ceremony will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023.
