From March 17, 2023 Post.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit observed a white in color passenger car that was travelling northbound on FM-1409 in Dayton, Liberty County, Texas violating a Texas Traffic Law.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified.  The passenger was identified as Brittani Whitman, W/F, DOB: 11-16-1992 of Baytown, Texas.  The deputy detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. Both occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and a probable cause search of the vehicle was made.  Numerous small baggies commonly used to package narcotics, a digital scale, two glass pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, and a black magnet box that contained five (5) plastic baggies that contained a white crystal-like substance of suspected crystal methamphetamine were found.  The suspected methamphetamine weighed approximately 3.2 ounces.

During the investigation, Whitman advised that the suspected narcotics belonged to her.  She was arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance – a First Degree Felony.  She was transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident.

(Information is taken from the deputy’s report.  The defendant is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.)

Thank you,

Bobby Rader – Sheriff
