WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. (Florida-02) expressed his gratitude after being appointed to the House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. Dunn emphasized the importance of maintaining America's competitive edge in AI innovation while also enhancing cybersecurity measures to protect the nation.
Dunn stated, "It’s a great honor to be appointed to the House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence. Ensuring America maintains its competitive edge is of the utmost importance, especially considering the instability in key areas overseas." He also highlighted the diverse expertise among the appointed members and expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the team to tackle the challenges posed by the rise of artificial intelligence.
The Task Force, led by Chair Jay Obernolte (CA-23) and Co-Chair Ted Lieu (CA-36), aims to work closely with relevant committees to produce a comprehensive report containing guiding principles, forward-looking recommendations, and bipartisan policy proposals.
In addition to Congressman Dunn, twenty-three other Congressional members have been appointed to the AI Task Force, including representatives from various states such as California, Texas, Virginia, Florida, and New York.
