Leon County Schools is proud to announce the five finalists for the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year!
The five finalists are:
• Marla Blair (Deerlake Middle School) • Christy Hanna (William J. Montford Middle School)• Randi Lundgren (Amos P. Godby High School)• Karlisa Ross (Pineview Elementary School)• Kate Strickland (Lawton Chiles High School)
The finalists were selected by a committee of educators, administrators, and community representatives. The committee selected the finalists based on their reviews of “redacted applications” (no names or schools on them) from LCS school level Teacher of the Year nominees. The next step for the finalists will be an interview process with the selection committee on Thursday, December 8, 2022. The 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year will be surprised at their school on Friday, December 9, 2022.
