Mrs. Randi Lundgren of Amos P. Godby High School who was named the 2022-2023 Leon County Schools Teacher of the Year!

Please join us again in congratulating Mrs. Randi Lundgren of Amos P. Godby High School who was named the 2022-2023 Leon County Schools Teacher of the Year!  

Mrs. Lundgren has been a teacher for the past two decades and has spent 15 years of her career at Godby. She currently serves as a Theatre, Technical Theatre, and Yearbook teacher.“It is teachers like Mrs. Lundgren who inspires our students and fellow educators to achieve their highest potential. I encourage the community to congratulate Mrs. Lundgren for her accomplishments,” said Superintendent Rocky Hanna. “I would also like to commend the other four finalists, the nominees, and to thank our selection committee who had the difficult task of determining this year’s winner.”Godby's Principal Desmond Cole said, "Mrs. Lundgren has single-handedly built the Godby High School Drama Department from the ground up.  She is incredibly zealous about making a difference in the lives of the young people she serves.  She is a shining example for all professionals to emulate, and she has a huge heart for kids.

”The LCS Teacher of the Year Selection Committee was comprised of district administrators, school principals, and other community members. The committee conducted a redacted review of the applications. Five finalists were identified out of a pool of candidates. In- person interviews were conducted of the five finalists, and ultimately Mrs. Lundgren was selected as the overall winner. Mrs. Lundgren is now eligible to compete in the statewide Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Program.
